Our Realities
Life Expectancy
This network is made up of organizations and leaders committed to the belief that your zip code should not determine your lifespan - because where we live matters, and every neighborhood deserves the conditions for people to flourish in health and longevity. It connects healthcare providers, community organizations, and civic leaders working to expand access, address root causes, and improve quality of life across our city. At its core, this network honors those who have been fighting for health equity long before it was widely named - and recognizes that when those leaders are renewed through collaboration and inspired by one another's stories, their collective capacity to move the needle grows exponentially.
Where you live can shape how long you live. Differences in life expectancy often reflect access to healthcare, resources, and opportunities across neighborhoods. These gaps don’t happen randomly - they tell a deeper story about the conditions people are living in every day. Looking at the data helps us better understand those patterns and where change is needed.
